Hi! I'm Anders Björkelund, a PhD student at the IMS.

I'm Swedish, and I completed my master's degree at Lund University, Sweden in 2009. After finishing my master's thesis, I stayed in Lund and worked on knowledge representation for robotics in the EU FP7 project ROSETTA.

Since 2011 I am doing my PhD in computational linguistics in Stuttgart in the context of the DFG funded SFB-732 project, project D8. My advisor is Jonas Kuhn. My main research interests are coreference resolution and dependency parsing.

Software

  • Dependency-based SRL system
    I built a system for dependency-based semantic role labeling during my master's thesis. A cleaned up version of the code is publicly available, along with Bernd Bohnet's dependency parsers.
  • Coreference Resolver
    Richárd Farkas and I wrote up a coreference resolver for the CoNLL 2012 Shared Task. I used the same system (with some modifcations) for the COLING 2012 paper Phrase-structures and Dependencies for End-to-End Coreference Resolution. Both versions of the system are available here.

  • Coreference Resolver -- new
    In our ACL 2014 paper, Jonas Kuhn and I describe a coreference system based on latent antecedents and non-local features. It is clearly superior to the systems above, and obtains the best results to date on all CoNLL 2012 Shared Task data sets (Arabic, Chinese, and English). You can find the system here.

  • Transition-based Dependency Parser -- new
    For our paper on non-deterministic oracles for transition-based parsers (Björkelund and Nivre, 2015), I implemented a transition-based dependency parser with the oracles describes in the paper. The parser is available here.

    Since 2016, this parser can also do sentence splitting. Check the same page for download.
