Overview

• Project aims:
  • Improving quantitatively and qualitatively the contents of selected monolingual dictionaries of German and of the German part of selected bilingual dictionaries, through the use of state of the art tools for lexical acquisition from large text corpora (see: Evert et al. 04 , Heid et al. 04 , Heid 02 )
  • Specifying and implementing tool components for dictionary authors, allowing them to view and manipulate the results of a comparison between the contents of an existing dictionary (to be upgraded) and data extracted from corpora (see: Heid et al. 04 , LexiView-Tool).
  • Improving existing and developing new methods for lexical acquisition from text (especially for types of linguistic information so far insufficiently covered) (see: Zinsmeister/Heid 04 , Zinsmeister/Heid 03a , Zinsmeister/Heid 03b , Kermes/Heid 03 , Heid/Kermes 02 , Evert et al. 04 ).
