What is TaCoS?

TaCoS (for German Tagung der Computerlinguistik-Studierenden) is an annual meeting of students of computational linguistics and similar curricula, like linguistics, information science, phonetics, and others. It takes place at a different university each year and is organised by the students themselves.

What's its purpose?

TaCoS is meant to provide a platform for communication among students from different universities - but not only for communication about scientific subjects. Providing a way to get into contact with representatives from companies in the field of natural language processing is a further aim. By the industry presenting their natural language processing techniques, students gain insights into current applications of NLP as well as into possible later occupations. Presentations of current projects and diploma, masters, and graduation thesises held by students and young scientists provide the grounds for scientific discussion among participants.
