I work with Prof. Hinrich Schuetze in the Statistical NLP Group. I am working on using word sense discrimination to improve retrieval. We have succesfully used our approach to improve retrieval in the physics domain ( presented at SIGIR 2011). Now we are extending our approach to the general domain, currently working with the ClueWeb09 dataset.
