Postdoctoral position in Computational Linguistics

The research group of Theoretical Computational Linguistics at IMS,
Stuttgart University [1], is looking to fill a three-year postdoctoral
researcher position starting October 2021. Payment is according to the
German TV-L pay scale (TV-L E13 100%; see [2] for details).

The position is not tied to a particular project. Instead, the group
is looking for a candidate with a research agenda which complements
the profile of the group (currently: computational semantics, text
mining, machine learning, psycholinguistics, computational social
science). The postdoc will be able to develop advanced technical
skills, strengthen their research portfolios via publications, work
with a diverse team, supported in applying for third-party funding,
and develop leadership skills by mentoring students.

Prerequisite is a PhD degree in computational linguistics, computer
science, or a related field, with substantial previous knowledge of
computational linguistics. The position comes with four hours of
teaching per semester, primarily in the English language MSc program
in Computational Linguistics. (Ability to teach in German at the
bachelor level is a plus.)

Please send inquiries and applications (a single PDF file containing a
motivation letter, CV, list of publications and short research
statement, and the names of two references) by email to Sebastian
Pado, pado at ims.uni-stuttgart.de.  Applications received by May 23,
2021 will receive full consideration. The position is open until filled.
