I am a post-doctoral researcher at the IMS, leading the DFG project SAGT: Computational Structural Analysis of German-Turkish Code-Switching. My research interests are mainly centered around the syntax and parsing of non-canonical text, let it be social media, morphologically-rich languages, or code-switched text. I am also interested in domain adaptation and low-resource scenarios.

Before joining the IMS, I worked at the CNGL, Dublin City University, on improving the automatically labelling of English data with deep syntactic information based on Lexical Functional Grammar (LFG). I got my Ph.D from Sabanci University, Turkey. My thesis was on building a large scale grammar for Turkish within the LFG framework. I was also involved in building the Turkish Wordnet.
