The IMS is situated in the Research Center for Computer Science (Forschungszentrum Informatik, or FZI) on the university campus in Stuttgart-Vaihingen.
The address is: Pfaffenwaldring 5 b, 70569 Stuttgart.
The IMS can be reached by S-Bahn from Stuttgart main station (lines S1, S2, S3; stop Universität, 10 min from main station). The trains depart every 10 minutes during the day and every 5 minutes during peak hours.
If you arrive at Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof by train, take the S-Bahn S1 (direction Herrenberg), S2 (direction Filderstadt) or S3 (direction Flughafen) to the S-Bahn station "Universität" (10 minutes). You can find the corresponding S-Bahn line plan here.
Please note that you can buy tickets to the university using the DB long-distance service. With a so-called City-Ticket the journey between main station and university on the day of arrival and on the day of departure is included. In the tariff system of the VVS (Verkehrsverbund Stuttgart) you need a ticket for one zone from the city centre.
Several buses stop at the university (Nr. 82; 84; 91; 92; 746; 747; 748 - and the airport feeder road X60). Here, too, it is best to consult the pages of the transport authority.
And if you are lost, a taxi (phone +49-711-566061) will bring you to us (Pfaffenwaldring 5 b, 70569 Stuttgart).
