Short description

The joint project "textklang" with the participation of the University of Stuttgart and the German Literature Archive Marbach is developing a mixed-methods approach for the systematic investigation of the relationship between literary texts, especially poetry, and their (possible) phonetic realization in recitation or - mediated by a musical setting - musical performance. Hypotheses on interrelations between aspects of text (interpretation) and prosodic speech features can be systematically developed on the basis of audio recordings and digitized printed music.
