I am working in the project B9 of the SFB 732 as a PhD student. My research revolves around the questions how and to what extent morphological derivation can be modeled and investigated using methods from Distributional Semantics. Earlier I tried to examine to what extent morphological knowledge can help to improve translation results of SMT (Statistical Machine Translation) systems. There, I focused mainly on translation from French to English. My translation system for the WMT 2013 Translation Task took 6 place (of 14) with a BLEU score of 30.0.
